Privacy Policy

Overview

GleamGiveaways (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates gleamgiveaways.com (the “Site”), a website that aggregates and lists publicly-available sweepstakes, contests, and giveaways run by third-party sponsors and platforms. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies only to gleamgiveaways.com — it does not cover the third-party giveaway platforms or sponsor sites you may visit after clicking an “Enter Giveaway” link, which have their own privacy practices.

We don’t run the giveaways listed on the Site, and we don’t collect entries, select winners, or handle prize fulfillment for any of them — that’s between you and the sponsor/platform running each giveaway.

Information We Collect

Newsletter signup

If you subscribe to our giveaway newsletter, we collect the email address you provide, along with the delivery preferences you choose (how often you’d like to hear from us, which giveaway categories interest you, and any minimum prize value you’d like us to filter by).

Signup uses double opt-in: after you submit the form, we email a confirmation link before you’re added to the active list. If you never confirm, the pending signup is automatically deleted after 7 days. Once confirmed, you can update your preferences or unsubscribe at any time using the self-service management link included in every email we send — no login required.

We use standard anti-spam checks on the signup form (a hidden field real visitors never fill in, a minimum-time-on-page check, and a Cloudflare Turnstile challenge — see “Cookies & Similar Technologies” below) to keep bots off the list. Your IP address is checked briefly at the moment you submit the form to enforce a submission rate limit, but it is not stored as part of your subscriber record.

Giveaway submissions

If you use our “Submit a Giveaway” form to suggest a giveaway for us to list, we collect the URL you provide (required) and, optionally, your name and email address if you choose to share them. We use your email only to follow up about the submission if needed. If you also check the box to join our newsletter, your email is added through the same double opt-in process described above.

This form is protected by the same anti-spam measures as the newsletter form (hidden field, timing check, Turnstile challenge), plus a submission rate limit tied to your IP address.

Automatically collected information (server logs)

Like virtually every website, our hosting provider’s servers automatically log standard technical information for every visit — things like IP address, browser/user-agent string, the page requested, and the time of the request. This is generic web-server logging used for security and operational purposes (e.g., detecting abuse), not something we actively mine for marketing.

Analytics

We use a self-hosted analytics tool (Independent Analytics) that runs on our own server and stores aggregate usage data — page views, referring sites, approximate location, and browser/device type — directly in our own database. We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Microsoft Clarity on this Site, and no analytics data is sent to Google, Microsoft, or any advertising network. We use this data only in aggregate, to understand which pages and giveaways are popular and how visitors find the Site — not to identify individuals.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Send the giveaway digest emails you’ve signed up for, according to your stated preferences
  • Follow up on giveaways submitted through our form, when you’ve given us an email address
  • Detect and prevent spam, bot abuse, and fraudulent form submissions
  • Operate, secure, and maintain the Site
  • Understand aggregate traffic and usage patterns so we can improve the Site

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your email address for anything beyond the newsletter and, if applicable, replying about a submission you made.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

Cloudflare Turnstile. We use Cloudflare Turnstile — a privacy-focused CAPTCHA alternative — on our newsletter and giveaway submission forms to tell human visitors apart from bots. When you complete a form, Turnstile may briefly use a cookie or similar local storage, and information such as your IP address and browser signals is sent to Cloudflare to verify the challenge. This is governed by Cloudflare’s own privacy policy, not ours.

Analytics. Our self-hosted analytics tool may use a short-lived, non-identifying technique to avoid double-counting a visit within the same day. This data stays on our own server — it is not a third-party tracking cookie, and it is not shared with any outside ad or analytics network.

Advertising (not currently active). We do not currently run any ads on the Site. Our codebase has placeholder ad slots that are switched off. If we turn on advertising in the future (for example, Google AdSense), that could introduce third-party advertising cookies, and we will update this Policy before doing so to describe what’s added.

Third-Party Links (Giveaway Entry Pages)

Every giveaway listing includes an “Enter Giveaway” link that takes you to the sponsor’s own giveaway page — hosted on a third-party platform such as Gleam.io, KingSumo, SweepWidget, Woobox, ViralSweep, Rafflecopter, or the sponsor’s own website. This link opens in a new tab and takes you away from gleamgiveaways.com entirely; we do not embed those giveaway forms on our own pages.

Once you click through, you are on a site we don’t control, and any information you enter there (name, email, address, social media accounts, etc., depending on what that giveaway requires) is collected and handled by that platform or sponsor under their own privacy policy and terms — not ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any giveaway platform or sponsor before entering.

Some entry links may include a referral or affiliate code that credits us if you enter through our link. That code does not give us any access to your personal information or to your entry — it’s purely an attribution mechanism between us and the platform/sponsor.

Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information (for example, through the newsletter or submission form), please contact us using the information below and we will delete it.

Data Retention & Your Rights

We keep the information described above only as long as it’s needed for the purpose it was collected for:

  • Newsletter subscribers: kept while your subscription is active. Unconfirmed signups are automatically deleted after 7 days. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send, which removes you immediately.
  • Giveaway submissions: your name/email (if provided) are kept as part of our internal record of that submission.
  • Server logs: retained per our hosting provider’s standard practices for security and operational purposes.

We’re a small operation, not a large company with a dedicated privacy/legal team, and we don’t claim any formal certification under GDPR, CCPA, or similar frameworks. That said, if you’d like to know what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, contact us using the information below and we’ll do our best to honor that request promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new feature that collects information (like advertising) or change how we use existing data. We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to check back periodically.
